Kareena Kapoor to Return for ‘Crew’ Sequel; New Faces to Join Cast
Mumbai – The makers of last year’s hit film Crew, starring Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu, are reportedly planning a sequel. Sources say Kareena will reprise her role as senior flight attendant Jasmine Kohli, while the other two leads are expected to be replaced by fresh faces.
According to insiders, the team behind Crew sees strong potential in turning the film into a franchise. “Crew has the potential to evolve into a full-fledged series. The team has brainstormed multiple ideas and finally settled on one that could smoothly transition into Crew 2,” a source told the media.
Kareena is said to be interested in returning for the sequel, though she is waiting to review the complete screenplay before officially signing on. “Things are still in the early stages, but the team is excited about taking the franchise route for Crew,” the insider added.
The current plan is to feature three A-list actresses in the sequel, with Kareena confirmed to return. Details about the other cast members are being kept under wraps for now.
The original Crew, which also starred Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in key roles, received largely positive reviews when it released last March and became the sixth highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year.
