On a Delhi street, an Indian police officer severely assaults two Muslim men who are praying on Friday

In the midst of increasing prejudice against minorities in India, especially Muslims, a police officer severely brutalized Muslim men who were performing Friday prayers on the side of the road in New Delhi.

In the video making the rounds on social media, the policeman is seen striking and kicking Muslim men who are praying. The attack was captured on camera, which caused national indignation and widespread condemnation.

The event is said to have happened in the Inderlok neighborhood of the city.

On Friday, a mosque in the Inderlok region saw a huge number of Muslims congregate, causing many men to pray on the road due to congestion.

As the Muslims were finishing their prayers, a few police officers showed up at the location in the middle of the prayers and began hitting and kicking them.

One of them is seen in the video striking and kicking the Muslims as they bow down to pray. But a mob encircled the policeman and protested his behavior.

India Today reports that the officer has been suspended effective immediately.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi shared a video of the event and remarked, “It seems that this Delhi Police soldier who is kicking someone while offering Namaz is not aware of basic human decencies.”

What is it that fills this soldier’s heart with hatred? It is demanded that Delhi Police initiate a case under the relevant laws against this officer and order his termination.

MK Meena, the deputy commissioner of police for the north, announced that an investigation into the situation has been started. The DCP said that in addition to the official’s immediate suspension, disciplinary measures will also be conducted.
