Pakistan Test squad captain Shan Masood outlines his plan of action

Captain Shan Masood outlines his plan of action

Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan’s Test team, gave an overview of his goals and ambitions for the national team. He also expressed his thanks for the chance to lead the group and his desire to improve Pakistan’s reputation in red-ball cricket.

Masood thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and all stakeholders in a video message that was posted, expressing gratitude for giving him the leadership position and recognizing the honor and privilege of serving Pakistan in international cricket.

“I want to thank you very much first of all. To simply be able to play for Pakistan is an honor and a privilege, Shan added.

He underlined the difficulties of managing a Test team, calling attention to red-ball cricket as the most difficult format and emphasizing the need for everyone to work together to advance Pakistan in this area.

“As far as leading Pakistan is concerned, I am really appreciative to the cricket board and all stakeholders who recognized my aptitude to assume this role and advance the team,” he continued.

The captain emphasized the necessity for the group to have a unique identity in the context of Test cricket, seeking to develop a blueprint that embodies a certain playing philosophy. Shan underlined the significance of devising a plan that thrills supporters and distinguishes Pakistan from rivals.

“There will be challenges; red-ball cricket is the hardest format. I believe it’s our collective responsibility to lead Pakistan in red-ball cricket, establish our own identity, develop a plan, and play a particular style of cricket that thrills our supporters. That way, when other teams play us, Pakistan will be associated with that identity and style of cricket,” he said.

Shan pushed the players to have a sense of unity and resolve among themselves as they worked toward this shared objective.

He finished, saying, “Once more, I am incredibly grateful and let’s aim together to take Pakistan forward in red-ball cricket.”
