‘She is my daughter, even now’: Behroze Sabzwari says he stands behind former daughter-in-law Syra Yousuf

Pakistan’s television star Behroze Sabzwari has advised his ex-daughter-in-law Syra Yousuf that she should settle down.

Shahroz Sabzwari and Saira Yusuf got married at a very young age. After a long time both the stars were blessed with their daughter Nooreh Shahroz. They both had progressed in their respective careers and did a good job while people loved their chemistry and family together. The nation was shocked after the announcement of their separation and soon after, Shahroz married supermodel Sadaf Kanwal. A lot of media backlash started and the whole family was trolled mercilessly.

It’s also worth mentioning here that Syra and Shahroz first time met at a close friend’s wedding ceremony when they were 18 and 19 respectively, and six years later, the couple got married.

Shahroz Sabzwari is also the son of legendary actor Behroz Sabzwari and a close relative of Javed Sheikh.

In a recent interview, Behroze Sabzwari talked about Syra Yousuf and said that she is his daughter and will always be as she is the mother of his beloved granddaughter.

According to the actor, if the chemistry did not settle between Syra and Shahroz, the families should have bigger hearts. Sabzwari also said that he has advised Syra too to get settled in life again and he would be standing behind her and always supporting her.

The Tanhaiyaan actor is even supportive of the Sinf-e-Aahan actor moving on and starting another family. “We’ve never seen Syra as separate from us and we never will. I’ve said to her many a time, ‘Beta, get settled down. Why not? I’m standing behind you.’ Why not? She’s our daughter and Nooreh is our life.”

Behroze opened up about the birth of the newest addition to the family, his second granddaughter and revealed her name. “She was born on 10th of Muharram, seven to eight minutes before 12. I think that 10th of Muharram is a big day for any Muslim. It is very important to me, Shahroz and the entire family. One of our elders, in connection to that, suggested Syeda Zahra Sabzwari. This is a really big present to us from Allah.”

Shahroz Sabzwari and Sadaf Kanwal tied the knot in May 2020 and their union attracted a lot of buzz as the timing overlapped with the announcement of Shahroz’s divorce with his ex-wife Yousuf. The couple welcomed their daughter earlier this month. It was Behroze who had announced that Kanwal was expecting in April.

Talking about the bond between the two half-sisters he said, “You cannot even imagine how excited Nooreh is — you can’t believe it, even we can’t believe it! Yesterday she was with Zahra all day and she kept her in her own room. She said to Sadaf, ‘If you want to feed her, come here and feed her’. I swear, she said to me and Safina, ‘Out, papa out.’ She calls me papa, she calls Shahroz baba, Safina mumma, Syra mimi and Sadaf Sadaf as she’s good friends with her.”
