Dominik Mysterio Captures AAA Mega Championship in Chaotic Showdown
At the AAA x WWE Worlds Collide event, Dominik Mysterio, son of legendary luchador Rey Mysterio, claimed the AAA Mega Championship in a dramatic and chaotic match.
The bout quickly descended into mayhem as Dominik’s Judgment Day allies, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, tried to interfere on his behalf. Their efforts, however, were thwarted by Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio himself, who stepped in to protect the action.
Vikingo appeared poised to retain his title, but the match took another twist when El Grande Americano pulled the referee out of the ring during a crucial pin attempt. Dominik then donned a loaded mask, headbutted Vikingo, and finished him off with his signature frog splash, ending Vikingo’s reign at just over 100 days.
After the match, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio came out to place the championship on his son’s waist. True to his “Dirty Dom” persona, Dominik berated his father, ordering him out of the ring and mimicking kicking him away.
Dominik’s victory adds the AAA Mega Championship to Judgment Day’s growing list of titles. The faction also currently holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the World Tag Team Championships (with Finn Balor & JD McDonagh), and has dominated 2025 with the WWE Women’s Tag Team and Women’s World Championships.
Now, Dominik faces the challenge of balancing his commitments between WWE and AAA. Already known for his confidence, he previously declared himself the greatest Intercontinental Champion, and fans can expect the same boldness and bravado from the new AAA Mega Champion.
