The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) 2024–25 invites applications from international students passionate about research. This fully funded scholarship offers a unique opportunity to pursue a PhD degree in Singapore. International students are encouraged to apply and take advantage of studying at some of the world’s top universities.

Prestigious Institutions and Renowned Supervisors

Selected graduates will study at prestigious institutions such as A*STAR Research Institutes, NTU, NUS, or SUTD. All training will be conducted in English under the supervision of distinguished researchers. Upon successful completion, students will receive a PhD degree from one of these institutions. Financial Benefits

The SINGA scholarship covers the following expenses for the doctoral degree:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Monthly stipend of S$2,200, increasing to S$2,700 after passing the Qualifying Examination
  • One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500
  • One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000

  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Physical Science and Engineering

Eligibility Criteria SINGA Scholarship

To apply for the SINGA scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • International graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Positive reports from academic referees
  • A*STAR may implement additional selection criteria based on prevailing scholarship policies, which may change without notice.

Application Process

Step 1: Browse PhD Research Projects

First, search for PhD research projects. Select the research project that interests you the most from the available options.

Step 2: Prepare Required Documents

Prepare all necessary documents in advance. Submit these documents online with your SINGA application:

  • Identification card or passport
  • Recent passport-size photo (in.jpeg or.png format)

Step 3: Transcripts and Reports

Ensure all transcripts are in English. Submit the following documents:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s academic transcripts
  • Bachelor’s Degree certificate(s) or a letter of certification if the degree has not yet been conferred
  • Two recommendation reports (submitted online by referees)
  • Optional documents include GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, SAT I & II, or GATE results. Universities may request these scores for admission.

Important Information

  • Ensure accuracy during account registration, as this information will be used for verification.
  • Apply for the correct scholarship – “Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)”—in the application portal.
  • Do not mail hard copies of documents to the SINGA office.
  • Submit applications early to allow referees time to submit their recommendation reports before the deadline.
  • Verify all data in the online application form before submission, as amendments are not possible afterward.
