Maryam Nawaz says, PDM Will Remain United
Maryam Nawaz (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz); Vice President has on Monday lambasted the incumbent government on demanding the resignation of the ECP chairman and its members.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has summoned a meeting on Tuesday, March 16 to review the matter of the resignations.
She added, “We will try to persuade those who do not agree to resign.”
“Pakistan will move towards a better future,” she added.
“The PDM is a coalition of 10 parties and remains united on a larger agenda,” she said, adding, “Tomorrow’s meeting will see what strategy the PML-N has to adopt”.
The PML-N leader went on to add,
“The hope is that all PDM parties will understand the sensitivity of the situation.”
Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court has issued a notice to Maryam Nawaz; on the bail cancellation petition and sought a reply on April 7.
The LHC had heard a petition filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking revocation of Maryam’s bail.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Sarfraz Dogar heard the arguments.
The NAB Prosecutor Faisal Bukhari gave arguments in the LHC and took the position that Maryam Nawaz Chaudhry Sugar Mills; has been out on bail on money laundering charges and is making statements against the state institutions.
The NAB requested the court that Maryam Nawaz did not provide records in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case despite the NAB’s notice, therefore her bail should be canceled.
Previously, the PML-N leader had said that the ones who tried to break PML-N have gone weak now.
Maryam Nawaz Pays Tribute
She further added, “I pay tribute to all 83 parliamentarians who accepted Nawaz Sharif’s narrative.”
“Our parliamentarians observed discipline and voted for Yousaf Raza Gilani,” added Maryam.
Speaking about her father, the PML-N leader added that Nawaz Sharif is a ‘trendsetter’.
“Whenever he decides to do something, the PML-N supremo does so,” she added.
Also, Taunting the Prime Minister over his demand for the vote of confidence, she said, “How could he seek a vote of confidence from his own people after accusing them of selling out for money?”
Vice President Maryam Nawaz; questioned, “Where will you secure the vote of confidence of the masses, who defeated you in the recent by-elections?”
Maryam said that whenever the upcoming polls are held, the PML-N will sweep them.
