Murree Limits Mall Road Access for Independence Day 2025
Murree Restricts Mall Road Access Ahead of Independence Day Celebrations
MURREE – With Pakistan’s Independence Day approaching on August 14, authorities in Murree have rolled out special safety measures to manage the expected influx of visitors to the popular hill station.
The district administration announced that access to Mall Road will remain restricted for three days. However, in a relaxation of the rules, families will be allowed entry on Independence Day itself. The move is aimed at preventing overcrowding and ensuring security during the holiday period.
Murree, located in the Galyat region of the Pir Panjal Range under the western Himalayas, has long been a favourite summer retreat. Since Pakistan’s independence in 1947, it has drawn visitors for its cool climate, scenic views, and distinctive Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architecture.
The town also serves as a gateway for tourists heading to Azad Kashmir and Abbottabad, and is home to a government-owned summer retreat that has hosted numerous foreign dignitaries over the years.
