Musk Blasts Spending Bill Breaks with Trump

Elon Musk Slams New Spending Bill, Criticizes Trump and Lawmakers

After staying quiet for a few weeks, Elon Musk has spoken out again about a new government spending bill. The fight started with former President Donald Trump, and now Musk is loudly criticizing the bill.

On Saturday, as the U.S. Senate discussed the bill, Musk posted on social media (X) calling the bill “crazy and harmful.”

By Monday, his criticism got stronger. He said lawmakers who promised to cut spending but still supported the bill “should be ashamed.”

He even said, “They will lose their election next year — even if it’s the last thing I do on Earth.”

Musk, who leads Tesla and SpaceX, also said America needs a new political party. He joked that the U.S. now has only one party — calling it the “PORKY PIG PARTY.” He said this shows it’s time for a new party that truly cares about the people.

Musk’s Fallout with Trump

This strong criticism has hurt Musk’s relationship with Trump. Just months ago, Musk had supported Trump’s campaign with nearly $300 million and helped lead a cost-saving program called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Now, Musk says the bill will increase the national debt and cancel out the savings made by DOGE.

It’s not clear how much power Musk has over Congress or if his opinions will change the outcome of the bill. But some Republicans are worried that this public fight between Musk and Trump could hurt their chances in the 2026 elections.

The drama has also affected Tesla. The company’s stock price went up and down wildly, losing about $150 billion in value before bouncing back.
