A “special court martial” is being considered for Punjab Police corrupt officials

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday announced preparations for a “special court martial” to handle officer misbehavior, an attempt to eradicate corruption within the Punjab Police.

The resolution, made during a high-level conference in Murree that was presided over by Chief Minister Maryam, represents a deliberate attempt to strengthen law and order throughout the province.

The Inspector General (IG), Secretary of State, Chief Secretary, Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Commissioner, Regional Police Officer (RPO), and other officials were present, along with Marriyum Aurangzeb, Central Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Numerous suggestions and plans were made to take proactive measures to protect people’s lives and property. The implementation of a unique audit mechanism to uncover police misconduct and a lack of professionalism was also approved.

The group resolved to hold a “special court martial” for police personnel and officials discovered to have colluded with corrupt mafias and criminals. Through CM’s unique dashboard, a complaint may be filed in the event that a bribe is requested.

During the discussion, a plan to create a border security unit to prevent smuggling was also discussed. The establishment of a capable, specialized police force was agreed upon in theory in order to successfully combat all crimes.

The go-ahead was given to launch a robust effort to eradicate all drugs. It was determined to pass laws that would provide the death sentence to anyone found guilty of molesting women and children.

It was resolved to change the pertinent legislation in this respect, and the chief minister ordered stringent steps to be taken to eradicate Punjab’s culture of illicit weaponry.

The chief minister also gave the order to take further action to end kite flying and the use of copper wire permanently. “Crime can be reduced by ensuring stern punishment to the culprits,” she said. She stated that the protection of every Punjabi person is a basic duty of the Punjabi government. “We would supply the newest weapons and ammo, cutting-edge gear, drones, and night vision technology.”

The Chief Minister issued an order to begin a comprehensive crackdown aimed at permanently eliminating criminal groups, smuggling, and terrorism. She also stated that the prosecution and investigative systems really need to be streamlined.

Aside from Chief Secretary, Secretary of State for Home Affairs, Inspector General of Police, Commissioner, CCPO, RPO, and other officers, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb was also present at the meeting.
