A suicide assault in Karachi targeting Japanese people

In the Landhi neighborhood of Karachi, a suicide assault on a Japanese-owned Hiace van left five of the country’s citizens remarkably unharmed, but their private security guard died from his wounds.

In a retaliatory exchange of fire, the security guards in the van and the Sharafi Goth police shot and killed the accomplice of the suicide bomber who was murdered in the incident outside Landhi’s Mansehra Colony bus stop. The firing of the other terrorist resulted in injuries to a bystander, a fire brigade employee, and another security guard.

Sohail Khan, a Panjgur inhabitant and estimated age of thirty, has been identified as the suicide bomber. About 35 was the age of the other assailant.

Noor Mohammad, a 45-year-old security guard, was named as the victim of the incident. According to police physician Dr. Summaiya Syed, he received a head wound from a gunshot.

The Sharafi Goth police, positioned at a nearby filling station, arrived at the site upon learning of the incident.

The Japanese nationals were relocated to a secure location, according to the police.

The terrorist who was shot dead had three weapons, six grenades, petrol bottles, a large water bottle, and a launcher in his backpack.

After recovery, the bomb disposal crew defused everything and turned them over to the Sharafi Goth police.

The city was rocked by the news of the suicide assault on the Japanese nationals’ car.

After arriving at the area, police, Rangers, agents from intelligence services, and members of the bomb disposal team cordoned it off. For medical attention, the two injured guys were sent to Jinnah Hospital immediately. One of them, according to the police surgeon, was really ill.

Deputy Inspector General East Azfar Mahesar told the media that one of the assailants had on a suicide vest when speaking to them at the scene of the incident.

He said that gunfire from the cops killed the second terrorist.

“The security guards in this act of terrorism have shown great courage, and the police provide security to foreigners working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and other projects.”
