Pakistan-Saudi Defence Pact: Aggressors Warned Against Miscalculation

ISLAMABAD – Speaking on a programme, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah highlighted the significance of the recently signed Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defence agreement. He stated, “If India attacks Pakistan, it will be considered an attack on Saudi Arabia. Likewise, Israel knows that any assault on Saudi Arabia will be treated as an attack on Pakistan, and Pakistan will respond decisively.”

Describing the pact as “historic and rare between two powerful nations,” Rana Sanaullah noted that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are Islamic countries, with Pakistan being a major military power. He added that Pakistan’s history demonstrates its ability to prevail even against larger adversaries, and said the defence agreement would act as a strong deterrent against potential aggressors, warning hostile nations not to miscalculate.

Rana Sanaullah also highlighted Pakistan’s domestic defence capabilities, saying, “Our missile system is among the best in the world and entirely indigenous. With further development, other countries may even need to purchase from us in the future.”

He concluded that the Pakistan-Saudi defence agreement is “encouraging, historic, and vital for the future,” and added that ongoing cooperation under the pact will further enhance the security of both nations.

The agreement, formally signed on Wednesday by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, establishes that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.”

According to a joint statement from the PM Office Media Wing, the pact “reflects the shared commitment of both nations to enhance their security and achieve peace in the region and the world. It aims to strengthen defence cooperation and joint deterrence against any form of aggression.”
