Pakistani Beauty Brands to Look Out For (Part II)

Read the first part of this beauty brand series by clicking here. I went through the labour of listing most (if not all) beauty, makeup and skincare brands that are inherently Pakistani and you can easily buy online.

MM Makeup by Massarat Misbah

The most renowned and esteemed makeup artist, Massarat Misbah, who previously had a chain of beauty salons all over Pakistan, launched her own brand of makeup not too long ago. With her Silk Foundation being one of the most coveted and a sought after one here in Pakistan, she’s won hearts with her exceptionally wide shade range and perfect undertones best suited to Pakistani skin tones. My personal favourite is MM Makeup’s Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Sunset’. With gorgeous, buttery shimmers and warm-toned soft matte shades, this six-pan palette is easily my most-used one. However, something that I didn’t enjoy very much is their mascara and bullet lipsticks. The lipsticks smell obnoxious, the mascara does nothing. Don’t waste your money. End of the story.

Kashee’s Cosmetics

Kashee had salons in Karachi and was best known for his bridal makeup aesthetic. Well, a few years ago he proved himself to be the Jack of All by launching his signature garment boutique with bridal dresses, his own wig and hair extension line and his very own makeup brand. While his 24H Waterproof Foundation is making news, my favourite item would have to be his duo-chrome, colour shifting loose pigments. Dreamy unicorn stuff… don’t say I didn’t tell you already!

Bling by Nadia Hussain

The well-known supermodel Nadia Hussain, launched her own line of beauty with stellar products, mostly under PKR 1000 rupees. Her colourful eyeshadow palettes, highlight palettes and multi-coloured liquid eyeliners are bestsellers on her website. Moreover, her newly launched Go-Makeup Palette is making news for being a copy of the Zero Makeup palette (Read review here) by Nabila. Whatever it is, there’s no denying that despite being a celebrity brand, her products are super affordable.

Sweet Touch Pakistan

The OG makeup brand has tonnes of products to choose from now. Of course, their lipsticks and nail paints were hot sellers for years, their powder and cream products are creating buzz too. I particularly like their baked bronzers and highlighters for how high-quality they are. But the funky, spunky nail polishes are still winners. They would always be, I guess.

Beautify by Amna

This brand is what started the “PR to Beauty Bloggers” thrill herein Pakistan. I remember back in the day, bloggers and content creators had their own discount codes and were enthusiastically endorsing Beautify by Amna’s products on their social media. The infamous “Porfade Primer” and BeautyBlender knock-off sponge were hot sellers for quite a while. Also, who remembers their 24K Gold Serum? That was all the rage! Still is. With an expanded product range and newly sprung skincare line, you should certainly check their website out.

Glam Girl Cosmetics

Although this brand has bloggers raving about their products, it didn’t make the cut for me. I tried their famous Artistry Palettes not too long ago and was very disappointed. Their Night Glam Palette in the darkest shade they offered “Golden”, was way too light for me. And considering that most women in Pakistan have a tan, golden and wheat-ish complexion like mine, this brand doesn’t cater to us which is a shame. I liked their cream contour palette. Didn’t love it though. I found the shades to be a little too warm and red, but that’s just me. Try out their products for yourself. Maybe you’ll find something that floats your boat. It’s ridiculously cheap- the prices, the packaging and the product too. Sorry, not sorry.

NOTE Makeup by J.

Although Note is a Turkish brand per se, Junaid Jamshed is the one who brought it here. Thank goodness, gracious! I love their Matte Moist Liquid Lipstick, baked bronzers and highlighters. But their range has a vast variety of products. I’m sure you’ll find something that makes your heart beat faster.

Golden Girl Cosmetics

Another OG skincare and haircare brand. If you step into any Pakistani Salon and ask for the most basic facial treatment, the products they would use would be that of GoldenGirl’s. Not gonna lie, this has some hidden gems. I found their website online and made a massive order consisting of their cleansers, face masks, hair masks and leave-in conditioner, manicure and pedicure trial kit and nail polish remover. Boy, am I surprised! Their products are so good that now I regret having spent thousands of rupees on going to salons and getting services done. Plus, they smell ridiculously amazing- like a spa. The only item I didn’t like was their Massage Cream. Everything else was a winner! And for the price that I paid for them, the best purchases I’ve ever made in a hot minute!

PS. I highly condemn the usage of any bleach powders/liquids etc. on your skin.

Sapphire Cosmetics

Sapphire, the fashion brand now has makeup under its name. While I haven’t tried anything for myself, I’ve heard bloggers like Khadeja rave about their products. Perusing through their website makes me wonder why I haven’t put anything to the test. Everything looks glorious!

Atiqa Odho Cosmetics

If I had to choose a brand that makes the best blush colours for Pakistani skin tones, it would have to be this brand. Atiqa Odho is the first-ever Pakistani celebrity makeup brand. With hits and misses here and there, their blushes and bullet lipsticks are amazing! My top picks would be:
For Blush:
Nightingale (a gorgeous warm tone that can qualify as a bronzer tbh),
Love Bird (warm-toned deep pink with orange undertones),
Robin (a straight-up neutral orange- my fave)
My mom’s personal favourite, Flamingo (light pink with neutral undertones)
For Lipstick: Blissful, Barbara, Real Love, Bold, Rich & Beloved.

Top Face by Bonanza Satrangi

After earning a cult following for their extraordinary designs and cuts in fashion, Bonanza Satrangi has dabbled into the beauty business. From nails to face to eyes to lips, they’ve got us covered. I really enjoyed using their Matte Lip Paint. Can’t give you any more recommendations because that’s the only one I’ve tried to date. Not to mention, their nail colours are really pretty and unbelievably inexpensive. Plus they have 66 shades to choose from. You’re welcome!
