Ramazan subsidy: Punjab announces Rs7 billion
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar; Monday announced the provincial government had set aside Rs7 billion subsidy; as a subsidy for Ramazan in a bid to provide relief to people during the holy month.
Taking to Twitter, CM Buzdar wrote that his team has already started working to provide affordable and quality food items; to the people of Punjab during Ramazan.

25 شعبان سے عید تک، 7 ارب کی سبسڈی سے، 313 رمضان بازاروں کے ذریعے معیاری آٹے، چینی، دالوں، سبزیوں اور پھلوں کی سستے نرخوں پر فراہمی یقینی بنائی جائےگی!

Starting from the 25th of Shaban until Eid; the government with a subsidy of Rs7 billion
will ensure the supply of good-quality flour, sugar, pulses, vegetables, and fruits at affordable prices; through 313 Ramazan bazaars,” he tweeted.
The Punjab government will give an Rs3.5 billion subsidy for the provision of wheat flour to the masses at cheaper rates, he informed.
Also, Food items will be sold in the Bazars at the rates of the year 2018; the chief minister claimed.
The MD USC briefed the forum that procurement would start from April 1 to ensure availability of basic items; at discounted prices across 4000 outlets of USCs throughout the country.
The moon for the holy month of Shaban has not sighted in Pakistan, a day earlier, so the month will begin on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
