insulting speech by a Telangana politician in Bollywood gets viral

Malla Reddy, Telangana’s Minister of Labor and Employment, made audacious predictions about the Telugu film industry’s impending dominance over Bollywood and Hollywood during the pre-release event of the much awaited film Animal.

Celebrity attendees at the event included Mahesh Babu and director SS Rajamouli, along with Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ranbir Kapoor. Indian Express reports that there were mixed reviews and an odd political statement made.

Malla declared, “I want to say one thing,” in a video that has gone viral. Our Telugu industry is going to dominate Hollywood and Bollywood in the next five years. Everyone would have to relocate to Hyderabad after a year because, as you can see, Bengaluru is experiencing traffic congestion and Mumbai has become antiquated. There is only one city in India, and that is Hyderabad.”

He went on to say, “We have Rajamouli, the endearing Dil Raju, and our new talent Sandeep, just like our Telugu people, who are so smart. The Telugu people are highly intelligent. Online responses to the remarks were divided; some people thought they were offensive, while others questioned the industry’s handling of such allegations. The video was uploaded by X with the following caption: An X user shared the clip with the caption, “Just look at Ranbir Kapoor’s face man. This is insulting. This Mahesh Babu who said that the Hindi industry can’t afford him is laughing.”

“Movie critic and trade analyst,” as she put it. Along with sharing the video, Kamaal R Khan wrote, “Sir, you are misinformed. Your Telugu actors have been cast as Bollywood bad guys, sir. Have fun, gentleman. After watching the video, another X user posted, “Horrible speech! Ranbir is your main visitor, please God. He was ashamed.” Mahesh Babu used the occasion to show his support for the Bollywood actor, despite fans’ disapproval of the politician’s forecasts. During his address at the ceremony, he referred to Ranbir as the best actor in India and declared himself to be a tremendous fan.

Politicians and celebrities alike were able to voice their opinions at the Animal pre-release event, resulting in a unique combination of political commentary and entertainment. Animal fans can look forward to an exciting new dimension as the industry’s dynamics remain a subject of conjecture and conversation as the film approaches its release date.
