Kangana Ranaut set to join politics on BJP ticket in 2024 Lok Sabha elections
In the recent fusion of Bollywood glamour and political aspirations, the renowned ‘Queen’ of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut, is set to venture into the political arena, as per reports by The Economic Times. Confirming the news, Kangana’s father, Amardeep, revealed her intent to contest elections next year, exclusively on a BJP ticket. Speculation arose following her meeting with BJP’s National President JP Nadda in Kullu on Sunday.
This convergence of entertainment and politics echoes a global trend observed over decades. Kangana, a vocal supporter of the Modi government, had previously hinted at a political foray in media interviews, aligning herself with BJP initiatives. Earlier in November, Kangana spoke with PTI, expressing her aspiration to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections if “blessed by Lord Krishna”.
Present in Dwarka to offer prayers at the renowned Dwarkadhish temple, the actor hinted at a possible political journey, leaving the prospect open for the future.
Kangana praised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Union government, citing their contribution to the placement of Lord Ram’s idol at Ayodhya as a noteworthy accomplishment following “600 years of struggle.”
Biographical Historical Drama Film Emergency
In the upcoming biographical historical drama film Emergency, the actor is preparing for a major part in which she will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film explores the turbulent years of the Indian Emergency, which lasted from 1975 to 1977.
Back in July, Kangana made waves with a string of Instagram Stories in which she revealed the “film mafia” that she claimed to have encountered while describing her purported interactions with other stars.
She made startling statements regarding their actions and motivations, including sharing her encounters with actor Hrithik Roshan and implying that another superstar Ranbir Kapoor, it is thought was involved.
Reminiscing about her alleged affair with Hrithik a story that had already been made public she described how she fell prey to a fraud in which someone used many phone numbers and accounts to imitate Hrithik and mislead her.
Kangana did not stop at that and went on to shed light on what she referred to as the ‘film mafia’. She accused this group of engaging in criminal activities, including but not limited to inflating box office figures by purchasing tickets in bulk and resorting to cyber espionage to obtain sensitive information about contracts and the personal lives of artists. Such practices, if true, could raise serious questions about the integrity of the film industry.
