Reason Why Pork is Haram Scientifically
From the scientific point of view, firstly, pork contains micro-organisms like Helminthes, like roundworm, pinworm, and hookworm among others. One of the most dangerous of these worms is Taenia Solium, which is a layman’s terminology is called tapeworm. It harbours in the intestine and is very long. Its ova i.e. eggs, enter the bloodstream and can reach almost all the organs of the body. Thirdly, If it enters the brain it can cause memory loss. If it enters the liver it can cause liver damage. It can damage almost all the organs of the body. In a research project undertaken in the US, it was found that out of twenty-four people suffering from Taenia trichuriasis, twenty-two had cooked the pork very well. This indicates that the ovas present in the pork do not die under normal cooking temperature.
Reasons Why Pork is Haram:
The main reason pork is forbidden for Muslims is because it says in the Holy Quran that some food is allowed while others are explicitly declared haram, which means forbidden. Furthermore, Pork fat gets deposited in the vessels and can cause hypertension and heart attack. Moreover, Pigs are absolute garbage guts, they’ll eat anything from their own faeces, cancer growths on other pigs, different sorts of insects, decaying animal flesh and drink their own urine. Pork is not dirty but rather regarded as impure, unhealthy and harmful for humans due to the fats; toxins and bacteria it contains and the way the pig spends its life rolling around in the mud and its own excrement.
The specific aspect that pork is unhealthy has even been proven by scientists; such as Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg; who argued that western populations who eat pork carry more diseases than other populations who do not eat pork.
