PM Orders CDA to Provide Free Transport to Slum People
On the Pakistan Citizen portal, a citizen cognized Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran khan about the miserable condition of residents of slum areas around the red zone: women, the elderly, and children had to walk to their colony carrying firewood on their shoulders because slum areas have no gas connection. The citizen proposed to provide free transport to slum people in a complaint registered on the Pakistan citizen portal on 1st December 2020.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, PM has ordered CDA to take immediate action to resolve the problems of slum people. On the citizen’s suggestion, the Prime Minister has ordered to provide immediate free transport for residents of slum colony around the red zone.

On the Prime Minister’s Instruction, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated to provide free transport facility to the slum people. According to the Prime Minister’s office, free transport will facilitate the women, children, and elderly to reach the Muslim colony.
Reaction on Social Media
After this news was shared on social media, it received mixed reviews. Some people appreciated this Step of providing free transport to slum people. On the other hand, some criticized: “why not provide these people with gas connections in the first place?” Responding to these questions, PMO officials said that these slum areas are illegally built so gas connections cannot be provided to these areas.
