Traffic Rules Violation by Police in Pakistan

Traffic Rules Violation is a big issue to be resolved; Pakistan is one of the countries having dangerous roads in the world.

The abysmal scenario of these roads can envisage after a report of WHO (World Health Organization) which states more than 25 thousand people have lost their lives in road traffic accidents annually.

This is not the first case, Traffic rules violation by police is very common in Pakistan; Police fail to promote traffic discipline and the importance of traffic rules.

Due to this reason citizen does not take the system seriously; Police is losing its respect also in the eyes of society due to deep-rooted corruption.

It can practically observe on roads that drivers stop pay their fines and move on expecting no or minimum argument; pointing no sensitization or embarrassment upon traffic rule violation.

Who Will SAY NO TO CORRUPTION

Corruption by traffic police in cities or on local roads is not a hidden phenomenon, police take bribes and ignore violations or allow violations under their supervision.

Taking advantage of position or uniform; many police officers have initiated their own transport service independently or with a partner.

Their driver commits violation on-road agreeably with the assistance of their master.

This practice is not only promoting violation, non-seriousness but also a culture of prejudgment and nepotism.

In fact; If this traffic rule violation did by ordinary citizen police may charge a heavy amount or claimed to give up his bike under police custody.

Notification issued by the Government of Pakistan to increase traffic violation fine on highway or motorway.

Unfortunately, no such warning imposed on police to close the traffic system loopholes.
